He was a minister and naval officer for the US Navy. William Worthington Russell of Washington, D.C. Born in Washington, D.C., December 3, 1859. U.S. Minister to Colombia, 1904-05; Venezuela, 1905-09; Dominican Republic, 1910-13, 1915-25; Siam, 1925-26. He died in 1944. This album has a total of 25 pages with photos, the rest are blank, however t are also many photographs that are placed in the album loosely. Based on our research the photographs are from his many travels as a US Diplomat. T are also some photo graphs of the USS Memphis, which was previously known as the USS Tennessee.
