Photo LIBERTY CAP - YOSEMITE By TABER c1880s This is a photo by the noted photographer Isaiah West Taber (1830 - 1912). Taber was both photographer and publisher and was based in San Francisco, opening his studio is 1871. His reputation built over the following decades but his career was ended when all his negatives were destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. This photo is a mounted albumen photo of Liberty Cap and Nevada Falls in Yosemite Valley. 4013 It is 9 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches (241x190mm) and has lost some contrast, mainly towards the background has and a little fading at the extreme edges. It is mounted onto thin, closely cropped card. All the photographs that I sell, are genuine, original photographs.
