Pianist Edwin Fischer: AMuQS from Bach, 1936! FABULOUS! Ricercare from A Musical Offering! MUST SEE! No Reserve Swiss Pianist, Conductor and Teacher Edwin Fischer (1886-1960). Beautiful signed music quote from the Ricercare of Bach's A Musical Offe ring, which Bach composed for Frederick The Great in 1747. Written on an 8 by 11-1/2 sheet of paper partially mounted on a sheet of music paper, Fischer included a note in Latin above his signature, Notulis crescentibus crescat Fortuna Vostra, which paraphrased the inscription that Bach had included in the score, Notulis crescentibus crescat Fortuna Regis (may the fortunes of the king increase like the length of the notes). Dated Berlin, November 1936, at the top Fischer notated Frederick The Great's name. In nice condition, with the usual mailing folds. Authenticity is guaranteed without time limit. A very well-known and highly-respected pianist, conductor and teacher, Fischer helped to revive the 18th century practice of performance directed from the keyboard. Fischer had a number of distinguished students, including Alfred Brendel. Priority Mail postage in the U.S. will be $4.60. Insurance extra (at cost). International postage at cost.
