Large, heavy 4to, off-white cloth covers, 271 pp, including 102 tipped-in color plates and 12 color photographs, five of them 2-page. A 10 thousand word text connect the paintings to Picasso’s life. Biographical section (20 pp), catalog, photographic index, and note by author. Pictorial dust jacket. First edition. The book documents every Picasso hidden by the artist in his home La Californie, many of them seen by for the first time through the book’s publication. Picasso and Duncan worked on the project for over six months, to ensure the color accuracy of each painting. Condition: Good++/no dust jacket. Interior clean, binding tight. The interior plates are in Very Good+ condition, the cover has minor wear, 2 corners bumped and moderate sunning/discoloration. An inch of page edges slightly dinged at the side for about a dozen pages, but only affecting the edges.
