Reproduced with the authority of the Joint Himalayan Committee of the Royal Geographic Society and the Alpine Club from the original coloured pictures taken by members of the British Mount Everest Expedition 1953." Chosen and Explained by Alfred Gregory. Foreword by Sir John Hunt. White embossed vellum binding with profuse gold gilt decoration. Blue colored endpapers. Rear endpaper decorated with a Chart of the Ascent of Everest by date. Interior is clean and unmarked. Plain blue heavy paper dust jacket. Bright gold gilt printing on upper cover of jacket. Gold gilt printing on spine of jacket is slightly faded. No chips or edgewear to jacket. Beautiful color photos of Sir John Hunt's first ascent of Everest.
