Extensively and heavily gigged, especially in the 60s-70s-and 80s with very very few nights when they have not been played. Then resident drums in several WMCs till 2009. Been played on tour in the U.K- France, Germany,Bahamas and Lebanon. Seen on BBC1-BBC2-ITV-YTV -STV- RTE(Irish)-German and Lebanese TV. Heard on U.K.radio like Tony Blackburn-Dave Lee Travis- Jimmy Young-Late Night Extra-Radio 1s Saturday Club etc. On umpteen Fontana singles and 1 album. Played in all the London Clubs -The Ramjam - The Scotch of St James - Q Club - Klooks Kleek - Bag o Nails - Hatchetts, etc. APOLOGY TO WATCHERS. The Mary Wells tour was in 1967 which excludes her and Ben E King from fronting the Ludwigs so I have deleted their names from the description. The kit has played behind The Platters (their drummer borrowed them instead of using his own) Tom Jones - Joe Cocker - Geno Washington and Chris Farlowe plus other lesser name artistes on the WMC circuit NOW THE BAD BITS. All the Drums have a yellowish patina as can be seen on the photos but still look good. Original colour is silver and can be seen under the skin edging. Whether this is from ageing or exposure to 40+ years of smokey clubs pub and discoes I don,t know. It will not wash off and I didn,t want to try anything harsh in case of damage to the surfaces. Bass drum rims are marked and chipped. The steel parts show rust (shown on photos) but the overall chrome work is pretty good, except for the snaredrum which has some pitting on the chrome body, but not excessive. The hard cases are not Ludwig. Well travelled but not split or torn, tho the bass and floor tomtom cases straps are missing, again easily sorted. Starting bid is £800 because of kits age and history. STILL A GREAT KIT. Drums can be seen by arrangement. Collection only in Sheffield. Cash or Paypal All hardware is original except for bassdrum pedal. The kit can be heard on Youtube under O,Haras Playboys, only on the Fontana records,* Ballad Of the Soon Departed* and *I Started A Joke* Everything else were Lefima drums.
