This is an original of thehistoric introduction of the new “Aqua-Master” two hose regulator, by U.S. Divers Co . of Santa Ana, California. P rior to early publications such as Skin Diver magazine, communications among divers, and in the diving world, were primitive, to put it mildly. The diving world was exclusionary and cliquish. If you found a good area to dive, you kept it to yourself. That all changed in December of 1951 with introduction of the first national magazine devoted to diving; Skin Diver magazine . With the new arrival, information flowed as easily as the tides, and this collectors item, original, Introduction of a "new design" of the classic two-hose regulator is one of the earliest examples of that informational flow … Up for auction is a very early and completely original, collectors item, introduction of the new “Aqua-Master” two hose diving regulator, by U.S. Divers Co. of Santa Ana, California. Although this advertisement is not dated, it’s from back before they had postal zip codes. Zip codes went into effect on July 1, 1963. This advertisement features an interesting and timeless write-up detailing the iconic debate of the pros and cons over the single-hose versus the two-hose regulator design, as pictured.
