Authentic Piero Fornasetti chair in his signature asthetic. The name of this chair is the "Strumenti Musicali" chair and it dates to ca. the 1950s. Fornasetti made these chairs in Red and Black and this is a Red example, obviously. Authenticity is guaranteed. We purchased this chair many years ago at a reputable local auction and it had its Fornasetti label when we bought it. Also, another example of this chair was featured in the comprehensive Fornasetti auction that Christies held on May 16th, 1998. (Lot #198, estimated at $3,000 - $5,000). The label from my chair has come loose over the years and is now lost, but authenticity is unconditionally guaranteed and the Fornasetti afficionados will instantly recognize this chair as authentic. NO RESERVE and a very low start since it is broken and being sold as-is. SHIPPING: Please note, I can only ship this chair within the lower 48 US States due to size and I will probably need to ***unscrew the back support from the seat of the chair in order to meet UPS/FedEx shipping size requirements**. CONDITION: Please note: ***Requires professional restoration by an expert.*** The back has broken loose from its support, as shown, and two chunks of the back are still screwed into the back. **Please see the many pics; this chair requires professional restoration by an expert craftsman.** T is also overall light to medium wear to the paint and the decoupaged musical instruments designs. Please note especially the paint wear all along the edge of the seat and the black marks that appear in various places on both the seat and the back of the chair. Also, t is some non-displaced craqueleture to the paint on the back support. Also, one of the screws in the back support is an old replacement and the the original screws are dented. I don't want you to be disappointed, so please understand that you are buying a very major chair for nominal money because it needs significant restoration. This chair has been in my family for many years, and I reglued the back previously and t is some glue residue on the back in connection with my old repair (a minor issue, but mentioned for completeness). Now, the back has come loose again, and I have decided to sell the chair on eBay to someone who is in a position to have it professionally restored by an expert. NO RESERVE and a very low start since it is broken and being sold as-is. ALL SALES FINAL on this auction, no warranties or guarantees of any sort made by seller (except that I do guarantee that the chair is authentic Fornasetti). The pics tell the rest of the story.
