Pilot Namiki Art HIRA Maki-e Japanese Flying Cranes MEDIUM nib Fountain Pen. This is one of the beautiful Maki-e fountain pens first produced in 1980s by Pilot Namiki. The pen is in lacquer black color with a beautiful paint of the Crane ( tsuru ). Crane ( tsuru ) is considered auspicious in Japan, as one of the symbols of longevity and represented with other symbols of long life, the pine and bamboo, and the tortoise.
