Beautiful Pink Gem Elbaite Tourmaline Queen Mine Pala Rare American Locality Blue Cap Hot Pink Tourmaline Weight: 7.5 gram or 37.5 carat Size: 32mm x 11mm x 10mm A very nice blue cap double terminated pink elbaite crystal. From the Tourmaline Queen mine, Tourmaline Queen mountain, Pala, San Diego county, California, USA. This specimen was produced in the late 1970's by Pala International. Both parallel tourmaline crystals are perfectly terminated. Perfectly doubly terminated with hot pink color and a deep red pink spot that is most likely caused by a microlite inclusion. The Queen mine is best known to produce the blue cap pink tourmaline specimens and other related gem minerals. This is an extremely good example of display quality tourmaline from this famous locality. No damage and no repairs. Specimens of this size and quality from the Tourmaline Queen are very hard to find for sale.
