What a mystery.... An obviously extremely well made pipe with near perfect straight grain, nice tight birdseye arund the thick and wavy topped rim, a perfect fit/finish, and a masterfully done rich brown and black contrasting stain. But alas, no nomenclature. The owner of this pipe says it was marketed to him as a Danish handmade Ben Wade. Our mystery pipe has been lightly smoked with just a touch of rim darkening and a glistening black stem with only minor scratch marks top and bottom. This pipe has been cleaned, polished and sterilized for the lucky winning bidder's immediate enjoyment. It is 6-1/4 inches long with a bowl height of 1-3/4 inches and a full 2-inches across the top at its widest point. It weighs 50.5 grams, which is remarkably light for a pipe of this size and testimony to the high grade, well cured wood used to create this mysterious masterpiece. Whoever wins this auction may just be getting a steal of a deal!
