Character Pirate Toby Jug 918th Bomber Group 20th Century Fox, 1949 I am not sure of what the connection is between the 918th Bomb Group and Twentieth Century Fox, but the bottom of the jug is impressed as the property of the first and stamped with the second. It is also marked as a model 01-1117-3. The large size jug is about 7 ¾” tall and is free of chips and cracks. T are no signs of use, except bottom ring wear. The free listing tool. I have recently learned that the 918th Bomb Squad participated in the movie "12 o'clock High" (I've seen the movie several times and did not make the connection). The previous owner was a retired military pilot of WWII era, so t could be a connection, but that is certainly not confirmed. I also google-found a 50-year reunion replica of this same toby mug. It is specifically marked as an anniversary mug. That seems to mean this listed mug could have been issued to those participants at the time of filming, the previous owner being one them. That would also give possible explanation to the significant bottom ring wear.
