Piscatawaytown NJ St James Episcopal Church Plate We are pleased to offer this lovely souvenir plate featuring the St James Episcopal Church of Piscatawaytown, New Jersey. This plate was produced to celebrate the church's 250th anniversary 1704-1954. The back of the plate contains detailed information about the church's history. The plate measures 10 1/2" in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. Just a lovely souvenir plate of historical and religious significance - especially for anyone with ties to Piscataway, NJ or to the St James Episcopal Church in particular. The original structure was built in 1724. In 1835 the church was destroyed by a tornado. It was rebuilt using as much of the original wood and fixtures as possible. The rear section was built in 1913. T was considerable military activity in the Piscatawaytown area in 1776/1777. Woodbridge Ave. was a main land artery for British communications and movement of supplies and troops. The British army used St. James Church as a barracks and a hospital from December 1776 to June 1777. Battles were fought at or very near to the church. To the east of this monument read more
