This listing is for a Barrel for a WWI era Colt M1911 Automatic Pistol. "Colts from about serial #400000 to the end of 1911 production (serial #629500) will have barrels with a Gothic "H" and a Gothic "P" (No serifs) that share a common line, and are thus a single mark, and is sometimes called the "Interlaced HP", on the area visible through the ejection port." The marking is correctly oriented when the pistol is viewed pointing to the Right and the barrel is viewed from above. This barrel has been parkerized, probably for use during WWII. The stylize H P is weak, but visible. The original finish was Colt Blue. The lands and grooves are strong, it's no sewer pipe and should launch a straight round, but t is light pitting inside the barrel. The value of this old barrel is in mating it up with a .45 pistol in the correct serial number range. The barrel has a "G" stamped on the bottom surface near the lug which identified government barrels. Please contact me for additional information or pictures. This is a no reserve auction with a low opening bid. Free shipping for the barrel within the States.
