Studio -PROPS APE WARDROBE DERKEIN (APE CITY) APE CIVILIAN SHIRT is a really awesome piece of HOLLYWOOD memorabilia! This is an ape civilian shirt that was custom made for and used during filming of the 20th Century Fox, Tim Burton film from 2001, PLANET OF THE APES. This is absolutely genuine, and screen used, and not a reproduction or copy. It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Studio-Props. We purchased this item directly from 20th Century Fox and have placed a copy of our receipt from Fox on the C.O.A. to prove it. This ape shirt was made to be worn by a civilian ape in ape city (also called Derkein in the earlier versions of the script). It is made of a very interesting and coarsely woven fabric that almost looks like burlap, but is much softer. The colors are interesting as well...it is not quite green and not quite blue and not quite brown, yet it is all of these at the same time. It has a very nice design that shows neat button closures that are made of the same fabric as the rest of the shirt. This is obviously hand crafted and it is obviously made by a master sewer. This piece was designed by Colleen Atwood the academy award winner for best costume design in 2003.
