Hello! Welcome to our familys Ebay store! Our family has a Spectrolite quarry in Ylmaa , Finland . We bought the quarry in 2003 and since then Ive been working there with my son and my wife helps in production. The size the quarry is 10x50 meters. We have a workshop where we produce products not only from this raw material but from many other stones, gems, fossils and meteorites; mainly from Russia . During the portion process we excerpt, we saw, we polish and we do cabochons, polished slabs, pendants, jeweler boxes, eggs, spheres and many other things. We sell first-hand products for any taste preferences. Our stones are sold to the kind of people who love stones, gems, meteorites, fossils but also for jewelers, collectors, etc. Thank you for your time! Good luck with your bidding! Andrey & Family PLATEAU PUTORANO NATIVE IRON Plateau Putorano native iron. Extremely rare on Earth! Structure and chemistry close to mesosiderite meteorite. Non meteorite! The first sample of this iron was found in August 1984 during geological research in the South/eastern region of the Putorano Plato, Russia . The climate in this region is extremely cold: temperature never exceeds 0 degrees Celsius. The iron pieces have been discovered on the bank of river in the eroded Paleoeffusive deposits of Triassic age. They can be either remains of lava or meteorites. It is impossible to exactly identify what it is. A test at an American laboratory showed that it is likely a terrestrial iron, however it can be remains of the Tungus meteorite as well. The Putorano Plato is located near Taymyr; the nearest city is Norilsk located in 700 km from the location of discovery. Native Iron is quite often a misnomer as natural iron is not necessarily "native" to Earth since it rarely occurs on the Earth's surface by terrestrial processes. It is mostly found in the form of meteorites that have impacted the Earth's surface. A few rare terrestrial gabbros and sulfide deposits do contain elemental iron-nickel deposits, these are the only truly native iron/nickel. All natural iron, whether it is native or meteoritic, is actually an alloy of iron and nickel. The two elements are combined in varying percentages from less than 6% nickel to as much as 75% nickel, although iron is by far more common than nickel. Terrestrial Iron/nickel is very rare. Meteorites are also rare, but are far more common than terrestrial Iron/nickel. Because there is an abundance of iron and nickel compounds, Iron/nickel is not used as an ore of either iron or nickel. Iron/nickel, whether terrestrial or meteoritic, is valued as a rare mineral collectors item. Some meteorites are polished to display etched crystal faces, known as Widmanstaetten lines. Meteorites are used in scientific studies, such as to find meteorite origins, signs of life in outer space, and extraterrestrial matter. Chemical analysis: Containing rock consists of plagioclase (labradorite, bytownite) and monoclinic pyroxene. Iron quantity varies from 45% to 90% of the total mass.
