Plath kriegsmarine sextant no. 24169 from WWII. The typical W-shaped frame was manufactured from aluminum in order to reduce weight. Mirrors and filters are in excellent condition. The alidade is engraved with the kriegsmarine mark and serial number and with an eagle which was partially erased (probably after the war for evident political reason). The black paint has come off in some points but it's quite normal considering the age of this instrument. The sextant comes with a calibration certificate dated 18th June, 1946. The box has a crack on the top and needs a little restoration but is otherwise in good condition and contains also an adjusting key for the mirrors and a sun filter for the scope. A rare and great piece for your collection of nautical instruments.
