These Movie Posters were issued by film companies in Japan for use in theatres and many were displayed. No copies or reprints sold . Posters graded fine will generally have tack holes (unless noted no tack holes) light folds and some light wear from original display is typical. Posters graded EX or better are above average examples that appear unused with no tack holes or creased folds.

GRADING GUIDE : I have assembled this grading guide to help give you an overall picture of what to expect (describing every detail of a Poster's condition gets to be time prohibitive, especially when dealing with hundreds at a time). Anything EX or better is a real treat in my opinion. FINE is typical and will frame up and display very nicely. When appropriate I will list more detail on a Poster's condition for things that do not fit the general condition as described below. More noticeable defects such as l arge tears, holes or marks that may affect display will be noted next to the grade given above. NM = Near Mint. May have only the slightest of wear or a minor defect visible upon closer inspection. A rolled example with NO tack holes or folds, looks new, unused. A true gem, rarely found. EX = Excellent. Misses being NM because it may have a more noticable blemish, such as a crinkle or edge bumps along the border (generally from handling or storage), no creased folds or tack holes, an above average unused poster. FINE = Typical general wear that may comprise of tack holes, normal folds or have some minor tears under half an inch. All are common to this grade. A pleasing poster well cared for that displays great. Most posters will fit this grade. VG = Very Good. In addition to Fine, might have some fold seperation, larger tears or holes, tape repairs (usually on back) or noticable spots or foxing. Still a presentable image suitable for framing. Posters with this grade will have more specific details listed next to the grade given above.

Photo Notes :

Posters can be challenging to photograph. Shiny or dark Posters are the toughest as they tend to glare and the lighting can cause white, hot spots when overexposed. Your Poster will look sharp viewed in person. Black round magnets visible in the corners are used to hold the Posters.

Additional Notes on Japanese Movie Posters :

A vast majority of Japanese Movie Posters have totally unique designs and more striking graphics in comparison to one sheets from other countries. I have been collecting these for many years and feel they are the best of all foreign Movie Posters. Issue dates for many Japanese Movie Posters are typically much later when compared to a US release date, many films were not released in the same exact year. Generally, the earlier the film, the more likely the original Japanese release date may be up to several years later than it was in the United Sates or any other in the rest of the World.
