I accidentally put a photo of an outfit not in this auction. It was a white dress very similar to the Pinafore. I do not have this dress and I removed the photo. The Pinafore is the only white dress in this auction.
Very nice PLEASANT COMPANY AMERICAN GIRL

Molly: 1944 doll with 1986 WEST GERMANY TAG ON HER SIDE

Three separate manufacturers have created American Girl Dolls.

The first was Goetz in Germany. Older dolls will have a “Made in West Germany” tag.

Production was later moved to Hungary and China.

18" full sized doll.

Pinafore does not come with head dress or balloon, it's just the lone Pinafore.

First 3 Photos are Catalog photos, the rest are the actual item.

This is my daughter's friend's doll

Her 20 year old college friend told me she received the doll about 12 years ago for Christmas.

The friend's mother is an Eye Dr. and Mollys Dad is a DR., so I guess that's why her mom picked this doll.

Molly is in very good conditon, and so are all her clothes.

Her hair is very nice as well, but I did replace her ribbons because hers were gone.

Tag on skirt say's Pleasant Co. Made in West Germany, it also bears the date 1986

Her hat/ Tam is tagged 1994 Pleasant Co. CHINA

No tag on the dickey or the sweater that I could find.

It doesn't look like she played with it much at all.

Molly doll info:
Molly McIntire is a lively, lovable, patriotic girl growing up in 1944.

Her stories describe her life on the home front during World War II.

Molly doesn’t like many of the changes the war has brought, and she especially misses her father, who is away caring for wounded soldiers.

But Molly learns the importance of getting along and pulling together—just as her country has to do to win the war!

This Molly doll has soft gray eyes that wink and blink behind her shiny glasses.

Her thick pigtails are fun to braid and tie with ribbons, or you can let them out and brush her long wavy hair.

Molly is soft and huggable with arms and legs that move so you can have her sit, stand, and hold all the accessories you collect for her.
Molly wears a sporty outfit featuring a navy blue sweater with a stylish green and red argyle pattern.

Push up the sleeves as she would have back in 1944.

Under her sweater Molly wears a dickey —a removable collar trimmed in blue rickrack.

Her navy blue wool skirt flares smartly. Red hairbows , white anklets , and black Mary Jane shoes finish the outfit.
