Up for bid is a Pleasant Company Samantha Parkington doll originally purchased in the early-mid 90s. I am the original owner. I got this as a gift as a little girl and my mother told me that it would someday be worth something if I kept it in good condition. I am currently starting my own bakery and am trying to sell off some things in order to get my business going. Included in this Samantha auction is:- Samantha Parkington doll : Her hair is in good condition, original style but rubber band has been replaced with a snagless hair tye with the original plaid bow tied over the band. Body of doll, hands, legs and head in excellent condition. Fully posable. The original "Hair Care for Your Doll" pamphlet is attached to her hand. Samantha is in her original plaid dress which is in excellent condition, but the red bow does show some fringing on the ends as expected with age. She has her black woolen tights and white bloomers, which still have elastic. She also has her black plastic Mary Janes shoes. She also still has her accessories, including the little coin purse with the penny inside and the locket with the explanation of the locket and photos, which have yet to be attached into the locket. Please see photos for details. She is in her original box and this is where she has been stored. -Meet Samantha Brochure -- The brochure is in excellent condition. This describes what she was wearing and what she would have been doing in this outfit in 1904. -The American Girl Join the Club Brochure. -Original Box -- The box Samantha came in is all white and has a little SDP(Samantha Doll Paperback) on the top of the box. The box is in good condition, but does have some signs of wear on it. There is some discoloration, but overall it is in pretty good shape for being an all white box. I can email more pictures if requested. -Meet Samantha Book "An American Girl" Book One -- The book is in excellent condition. The book plate has not been filled in. The spine looks great. The pages are smooth and unfolded. The dust jacket show minor wear (small tear in top left corner where Samantha's hand rests). -Samantha's Winter Holiday Outfit Collection -- I would like to include this with my listing because it seems silly to separate it. I would like them to go to the same home. These are used and have been displayed on Samantha. This set includes: The white hat, the white muff, the winter brochure, the winter story book, the cloak, and the leg warmers. All of the clothes are in excellent condition, and the white still looks brand new. The book does show signs of wear as I was a big reader when I was younger and cared probably more for the book than for the doll but there are no marks on the pages or damaged corners. Just some discoloration due to age on the outside cover of the book. Again, please request pictures if you would like to see more. I realize the original book is missing in this auction, and i opted to buy one to include with the set but noticed they are pretty well available through ebay or other retailers for low prices. Also, it came with a paperback but perhaps you want a hardcover. I figured this was best left up to the buyer. The doll was stored in a non-smoking home but I must mention I do have a dog in case of allergies. I am terribly allergic to cats and have ordered some stuff online and had to return due to the cat dander, so I understand that this is a concern for some people. I have reviewed all of the other Samantha doll auctions and I am certain that you are getting one of, if not the best, of the available dolls. All items described above are ORIGINAL, no replacement parts. This doll has never been to the hospital! Please let me know if you have any questions.
