Embrodiered Silk & Rich Taffeta Civil War Gown Better Day Dress This gown would be suitable for Civil War events, Dickens events, SASS(Single Action Shooting Society) Old West or Prarie Impressions. This 2 piece gown is made of a drapery weight taffeta of rich brown, mixed with an embrodiered dupioni silk. It is a gingham pattern of brown and ivory with tiny dots embrodiered in every other square. It is accented with wide ivory venise lace. It has matching gold metal buttons down the front. The bodice has a lovely square neckline with large pagoda sleeves. The sleeves have a row of wide venise lace, as does the neckine. The peplum styled hemline hangs gracefully over the skirt and has been hand hemmed, for emphasis. It has 4 darts in the front and princess seams in the back for the perfect fit. It has lovely dropped shoulders, 2 points in front, and a square peplum in the back. The front has gold metal buttons, for closure. The bodice is fully lined. The skirt is 210 inches around and has been hand hemmed. It has been hand pleated onto a matching waistband. It is about 47 inches long and ready to be hemmed. It closes with a hook and eye closure.
