THIS ITEM IS LOCATED IN THE UK GREAT BRITAIN ENGLAND We are listing on the US site due to recent policy change of reduction in visibility of UK sellers POCKET SUNDIAL / COMPASS / MAHOGANY BOX / 19 th CENTURY This pocket sundial measures approximately 2-7/8 inches square by ¾ inch deep. The box itself is finished in mahogany...when in the shut position the top is slightly out of line with the bottom. The compass works The middle section lifts and adjusts...the adjuster is shaped like a bird. I think t is a piece missing, t should I think be a locking bar activated by a little pin in the wooden surround...this is to keep the compass secure when travelling, this bar is now missing, apart from that, and some light scratches to the top of the lid everything appears to be ok. Someone has glued some information or instructions on the bottom. I believe this item to be late 19 th century.
