POEMS, Robert Burns, 2 vols, 1811 POEMS by Robert Burns [1759-1796], with An Account of His Life and miscellaneous Remarks On His Writing, containing also Many Poems and Letters not printed in Doctor Currie's Edition In Two Volumes. Printed by John Moir, Royal Bank Close, EDINBURGH, 1811. Size of both volumes is 9 1/4 inches high x 6 3/4 inches wide. Binding is a quarter leather and decorated boards ( I am not sure of what the material used on the boards is, I don't think it is leather but it blends with the leather spine nicely). Lettering on the spine is gold leaf. 5 bands on spine. Volume I, 18 lithograph illustrations. Condition is VERY GOOD considering the age [ 197 years old]. The illustration are the only pages that have foxing in a moderate degree. The text is almost free of any foxing except for a spot now and then. T is a slight stain at the very top of the text, going from very very light to moderate. The covers show some minor flaking and darking around the edges to a very moderate degree. It appears that at some past time someone has consolidated the covers as t is no loose pieces now. All the text pages are not uniformly white most going to a light gray. The binding is tight, no loose or torn pages. Volume II, 5 lithograph illustrations. Condition is GOOD considering the age [ 197 years old]. Foxing is mostly on the illustration, t is moderate foxing on the frontispiece and title page. The covers show some minor flaking and darking around the edges to a very moderate degree. It appears that at some past time someone has consolidated the covers as t is no loose pieces now. All the text pages are not uniformly white most going to a light gray. The binding is tight, no loose or torn pages. Terms: I am only accepting payment via PAYPAL in US dollars. Books will be sent via USPS media mail and insured. T is no charge for shipping in the continental US. Shipping outside of the US is by the USPS the most economical way. Cost of shipping overseas will be between $25.00 to $50.00. Overseas bidders can check on the exact shipping cost by contracting me before the end of the auction.
