I am the original owner of this ultra-hip work by Richard Lindner. Titled: The Poet (Portrait of Allen Ginsburg) , is a super-jazzy and totally unique work, and is a head-turner. Are you a fan of all things beat? If so, make a thought-provoking & evocative statement with this Ginsberg takeoff as Uncle Sam. It has been framed since its purchase with non-glare glass, hung out of direct sunlight, and is in near flawless condition with no scratches or other noticeable imperfections. The work has been nicely double-matted (which is in unmarred condition) and the brass frame is in good condition (minus a nearly imperceptible minor scratch or two). The work can be sent framed - $100 (minus the glass) or unframed - $20 (un-matted - just the art).It has been said that "an encounter with a painting by Richard Lindner is like coming abruptly to a railroad crossing and being stopped by flashing lights, clanging bells, and the warning sign: Stop, look, listen". This awesome litho will surely add spice to your decor, color to your life, and is surely a conversation piece to say the least. It is signed by the artist in pencil, and is # 87 of 175. Lindner's "The Poet" was created as a water-color in 1969 (now in the Galerie Lelong, Paris), after he had spent the previous 15 years living in NYC, absorbing the city's dynamic culture.
