Rare and interesting.. Mailed - it seems - in March 1851 or 1857 .. to the Prince EUSTACHY CZETWERYNSKI .. by another member of the Polish/Russian, nobility judging by the wax stamp on the back of the cover.. VERY GOD CONDITION - The pre-printed stamp is crossed with black ink without being cut, like it is usually the case.. The env. is addressed in French - not in Polish nor Russian...well, it was mailed from one prince to another ,,,It was mailed to he village of Ploska , which has a rich history of itself.. Situated by the city of Ostrog ( Volhynie or Western Ukraine) Ploska belonged in the 1700 to the Malachowski family .. at he end of 18th century when Poland disappeared from the maps of Europe, Ploska was given by Catherine II to her general Iwan Fersen .. From him the village went to the famous Princes Czetwertynski family - they owned it from 1815 to 1939. And in the 1830s the prince Eustachy Czetwertynski build in Slonka his magnificent residence (where our letter was mailed to) - it was burned to the ground by the Germans in 1939.
