You are viewing a unique metal rimmed Polia Pillins aquarium vase with 4 fish. The thing that makes this vase so unusual is that it contains a lighter as well. Remember that this was the era of heavy smoking! This is part of a six piece collection of only the finest pieces that was purchased directly from POLIA PILLIN herself. She also directed the purchasor to a huge figural bowl, her largest lidded box and 2 unusual chargers as well as some other works that I plan on listing. All of these pieces were displayed at the former owners home in the 60`s and 70`s and have been in storage since then. Because of the high auction estimate I was going to send this collection to sale but decided not to wait three months to get paid. This box features 4 fish swimming in the placid blue water and has the same motif as the other vase that I have listed. The vase is in perfect condition with no nicks,fleabites,cracks,etc. Without the lighter insert the vase measures 3.5" tall. This work is signed with her typical signature. The photos were taken in both natural and artificial light. My photos do not do this piece justice because the curvature and high gloss made shooting this very challenging.
