In the description below you will learn about 3 things; Why we polish Petoskey stones, how we obtain a superior “NATURAL” finish and a description of the stone pictured. First; We polish only Petoskey Stones because we love to unlock the beauty that lies within each stone. All the Petoskey stones that we sell are found by my husband and I around Northern Michigan and are polished with our own equipment; 1 piece at a time. We now have sold over 500 beautiful Petoskey stones on Ebay and each one garnered us excellent feedback.Second; Our sanding process allows us to offer a superior finish on our stones compared to most other sellers. Just take a look at our pictures and compare; we simply provide a better finished stone. We start by hand grinding each large stone through increasing grits of sand paper on an arbor; starting with 80, 220, 400 then 800. Then we hand sand each large stone with 1500 grit to obtain an ultrasmooth surface. Our small stones sold in groups of 6 are placed in a tumbler for ~2 weeks and go from 60 to 1000 grit during that time. Finally, our "NATURAL" finish stones are hand selected as the best and most beautiful; they are so nice that a hard polish will make waste of their natural beauty.
