Hi, I'm Hew. I have enjoyed collecting flow blue, polychrome and transferware since 1970. Alas, it is now necessary for me to simplify life, downsize and make a portion of my collection available to others. I have also placed several pieces in my antique shop booth. My first preference is to sell to my fellow eBayers, so please let me know ASAP if I need to retrieve this piece for you. Cheers! This is a remarkable, venerable and beautiful, polychromed flow blue floral pattern stoneware Staffordshire plate by Minton pottery, made c1840s - 50s. This plate is 9 1/8" in diameter. The rim is subtly scalloped. The floral pattern is 'ORIENTAL JAPAN'. The cobalt blue flows well and the transfer is overpainted with light green, blue green, orange, burnt orange, reddish pink, purple, yellow and mustard. Printed on the back of the plate is the potter's mark including the pattern name and the initial M., and t is impressed the letters B.B. and 'New Stone', depicting Minton's mid-1800s stoneware type and formula. This plate is free of cracks, chips, flakes and repairs. T is crazing that is discernible on very close scrutiny and confined to the back of the plate. T are mild utensil marks. The piece exhibits a solid ring when tapped. I have collected flow blue and polychrome since 1970, and I have found this piece to be especially versatile
