This is a magnificent antique Meissen / KPM style, (although I don't know who made it) porcelain plaque depicting a putti or Cupid kissing a nude sleeping woman. I believe it dates tot he 1890s. It is such a delicate and touching scene. The lady has beautiful dark curly hair. The frame is absolutely gorgeous! It is very ornate with a bow and leaf design at the top and scroll designs on the face. The site w the painting is lined with inlaid rhinestones, the sides and bottom of the frame are lined with inlaid rhinestones as well. T is a ring on the back to hang ut as well as an arm to stand it on a shelf. The back of the frame is marked: AKW and Guaranteed 14K Gold Plated. I was told it was a Dore Bronze Miniature Picture Frame. Please enlarge all photos for an idea of just how beautiful it is. This stunning piece is in excellent condition. The frame measures 4.75" high and almost 3" wide. The opening measures just over 2" high x about 1.75" wide. This eye catching portrait would look fabulous in your home! Please see my other beautiful antique figurines. I will also be adding more on Saturday night, March 17.
