These 3 thimbles are part of a collection recently purchased from the estate of a world-traveling thimble collector. Bing & Grondahl Porcelain Blue Flowered Thimble 4801 Hand-painted Bing & Grondahl porcelain thimble with a pattern of blue flowers on a white background and a gilt-edged rim. The B&G mark appears on the inside along with " Denmark " and the number 4801. Condition: Excellent. Size: 1 inch high. Unusual Limoges France Cobalt and Gilt Figural Helmet Thimble Cobalt blue Limoges thimble marked " Limoges France " on the underside. The design of this thimble is unusual and we have not been able to find another like it for sale anyw Trimmed and decorated in gilt, it is in the shape of what looks like an equestrian helmet. A little eighteenth-century style courtship scene is painted in gilt on the front. T's a gilt finial or knob on the top and the brim is also edged in gilt. If this had not been part of a thimble collection, we would have thought it was a collectible miniature porcelain helmet! Apparently, as we discovered, not all thimbles are created for sewing purposes. Condition: Excellent. Size: 1 inch high; 1.25 inches from front to back.
