Porcelain Treasures Fine Porcelain Lady Imperial, Madame Bovary Tea Cup and Saucer. Lovely tea cup is hand decorated by Betty Platner in gold gilt swags and diamonds on a white background, two transfer picture's of Gustav Flaubert's 1856 fictional character Madame Bovary are on each side of the cup and she is the theme of this wonderful set.
The footed tea cup stands 3 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches across the mouth and has an artistic swirl handle. The saucer stands 7/8 inch tall, 5 3/4 inches across. The beautiful saucer's transfer depicts a much larger Madame Bovary and hand decorated gold gilt roses on a vine frame the entire portrait. This stunning tea cup and saucer are hand decorated by Betty Platner in gold gilt on the edges, handle, rim, base of cup and a line on the inside of the cup. The cup and saucer are signed on the bottom Porcelain Treasures, Fine Porcelain, Hand Decorated by Betty Platner.
This beautiful Porcelain Treasures Madame Bovary tea cup and saucer are in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. Tea cup and saucer would be a beautiful display piece or to use for tea.
