Christmas Sheaf "Julenek" by Porsgrunds Porselæn. Pictured are warmly dressed children hanging a sheaf of grain out for the birds, a Norwegian Christmas tradition. In the foreground is a fence and beyond is home in a rural dale covered in fresh snow. All shades of cobalt blue bordered with holly boughs on fine white feldspar porcelain. This attractive and hard-to-find plate is the first of a very limited five-year series by Thor Henning Kristiansen, of the factory's Handverkstudio (Artists' Gallery). I am listing all five, so check my other listings and get the entire set (Save yourself endless trips to the antique stores looking for 'just that last one').
