Bid with confidence! Portmeirion Botanic Garden Dinnerware: Portmeirion dinnerware is fine quality dinnerware which has been produced in England for many years. It is highly collectible because of the quality of the pieces and the unique and detailed botanical floral patterns which vary with each piece. Value of pieces are increased by the presence of early back stamp marks, as well as the rarity of many patterns and pieces, or colors which are discontinued and rare. The wonderful botanical flowers on the pieces were inspired by images from a 1824 book, The Universal Herbal by Thomas Green, with antique watercolor floral portraits. It is possible to collect specific colors, or specific motifs of Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinnerware, depending on what you like or your theme. A table set with Portmeirion Botanic Garden pieces looks like a beautiful flower garden. Portmeirion Botanic Garden coordinates well with antiques and vintage glassware such as milk glass. T is a Botanic Garden coordinating pattern called, Portmeirion Botanic Garden Butterflies. The butterflies pattern features the typical green laurel leaf border and features beautiful butterflies, similar to those seen on the Botanic Garden pieces. Botanic Garden Butterflies is discontinued and also highly collectible. PLEASE NOTE : Next week we will be listing another 40-50 other Portmeirion pieces, most with OLD Crests. We will also be listing some items in the Portmierion Botanic Garden Butterfly pattern, which coordinates with the florals. Any bright white spots in the photo are flash reflection and are not damage. Portmeirion and other fine china often exhibit kiln pin marks w the object has been set on metal pins while being fired in the pottery kiln. We would not consider kiln pin marks on the underside of an item, or an extremely tiny bubble in the glaze to be damage. We evaluate pieces in good light with a naked eye. Pieces which may never have been used might still exhibit very tiny marks from being stacked and stored. We do our best to point out any obvious flaws. We do not require insurance or tracking, but we STRONGLY recommend it. Please be aware that uninsured items are the responsibility of the buyer. Please submit questions or requests for pictures at least 24 hours before auction end. *SHIPPING DISCOUNT for MULTIPLE PURCHASES of Portmeirion- After the heaviest Botanic Garden item is calculated for combined shipment, each additional auction item in the BG dinnerware line, will ship for not more than $3.50 (when purchased within 1 day, shipping to 1 address and paid on a combined invoice.
