Up for auction is the book: Portraitures of Horses by George Ford Morris. It was published in 1952, a First Edition - Publisher, Fordacre Studios, Shrewsbury, NJ It measures 11X14, and has 280 pages. It has hundreds of black & white illustrations and color plates. In addition to the horse illustrations,there are illustrations of dogs,cats,fowl,and people. It has autobiographical comment and narrative by Mr. Morris. This is a hardback book with a patterned brown cloth over boards and green text on the spine and cover. The book has a slight musty odor and age toning. There are no marks or writing in the book. There is a page tear on page 271 that has been taped. All of the color plates are vibrant and the black & whites are bold. There is no fading on the pages. The cover and spine are in good condition with no rips or tears. As on any book of this age, there is wear to the edges of the cover. This book is hard to find and a "must" for any serious horse person.
