I am pleased to offer this highly collectible Post 86 Transitional Coffee Server in Apricot for your purchase consideration. This is the design HLC intended for the Post 86 coffee server which was the same as the original vintage coffee server. However it was only made for a very short time--one to two months maximum--due to the switch in clay composition used in manufacturing. The change in the clay made the large body warp so badly in the kiln that it resulted in an unacceptable scrap rate. HLC then changed the design to the commonly seen Post 86 coffee server. This transitional coffee server is in factory mint condition. The lid fits fine. This lid has the original vintage coffee server style finial. They are also seen with the Fiesta Ironstone finial. T are no chips, cracks, or repairs. This transitional coffee server base is unmarked. The only issue in this coffee server is a defect on one side about the size of a pencil lead. It also has five tiny pin point size glaze pops scattered over the surface. No post manufacturing damage. Shown are photos with and without flash which account for the color differences in the photos. The transitional Fiesta coffee server is shown and explained on page 70 of Huxford's 10th edition of the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Fiesta". No Reserve! Low start bid! Bid with Confidence!
