I bought this from a lady who's mother received it when she retired as the postmaster at a post office in MT, I'm guessing Santa Rita, MT. The post box measures 8 1/2" Deep, 15" at it's widest point, and 20" high. I'm uncertain about the actual age but I'd guess sometime prior to the 70's based on the story I got. I checked with my local post office and they said there should be no problems using the box as your own personal mailbox. The only warning that I got was that if the box is away from the house you may need a sign saying that the box is for private use only so other residents don't mistake it as a functional drop box. The box can be opened from either side and is lockable with any standard lock. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. Please allow up to 24 hours for an email response.
