Please Note: This is a RELISTED item with a Reduced Starting Price.This auction consists of a complete uniform for a Captain who served with the Chemical Warfare Service (Chemical Corps) in the US 4th Infantry Division. This is a post-WWI uniform type (1921-1936 ???) with the open collar tunic and the riding breeches (pants). This uniform is double-patched, with the Chemical Corps patch on the right shoulder and the US 4th Division on the left shoulder. This set includes the tunic with all insignia, breeches, overseas-type hat, leather puttees and Sam Browne belt. This is a great uniform set, demonstrating the early days of the Chemical Corps. This set is in excellent condition and would be appropriately displayed in a museum. The tunic and breeches are of medium weight wool. The tunic is in very nice condition with only three or four small moth nips, not larger than a pencil tip, and a couple of small field-type repairs on the upper right sleeve. The pants have no mothing or repairs, and the ones mentioned on the tunic do not detract from the overall presentability of this uniform. The buttons are post-war type brass (gilt) and the Captain's bars on the shoulder and "US" and the Chemical Corps are all post WWI type pin-on insignia.
