For auction is a vintage, sterling silver, US Air Force, crew pin or badge that has been made into a ring. The ring is a size 8 1/2. It weighs 5.6 grams. I believe the wings are authentic military issue but I don't collect so I can't be sure. I have shown the marks on the inside which indicate it was made by Meyer as t are two of their shield logos on the back. T is also clearly the word NEW YORK and above that what appears to be the word STERLING, althoug it is quite worn. T are stray marks on either side in approximately the place w the pin stem and catch pieces would have been attached. I can't say that these marks show that they were once in place or not. The mark on the left side near the NEW YORK and STERLING looks almost like a logo of some sort. The portion of the ring that is the original air crew or crewman wings is about 2 3/8 inches long but the wing ends have been clipped off with a piece of silver added as the back of the ring shank or band so the original wings would have been closer to 3 inches long. Condition is very good. T is some wear to the high points of the wings but, otherwise, no damage or defects. Shipping is $1.50 plus required insurance dependind on the amount of the ending bid.
