This is a vintage USM4 K1 Knife/Bayonet with a USM8A1 Scabbard. It is a post-WWII, Korean War Era, Model U.S. M4 Bayonet-Knife made for the US .30 Caliber M1 Carbine complete with USM8A1 sheath/scabbard. Blade has not been sharpened or fooled with in any manner. Overall length of knife/bayonet is 11-1/8" with 6-1/2" long blade. Grips are the 2-piece black plastic checkered type, which were adopted by the Ordinance Department in 1951. Grips do have a few cracks but knife is completely intact. (see photos) This style bayonet was used in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. The four (4) suppliers of these to the U.S. Government during this period, were Conetta, Bren-Dan, TMN (Turner Manufacturing) and Imperial Knife Co. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
