Vintage Postcard, "S.S. Chicago Maru." Beautifully colored Japanese Art Nouveau landscape with inset view of the ship itself. The ship was built around 1910, but t is no date on this card. My research indicates that Chinese passengers were brought to Seattle in 1911 on this ship. Back reads Osaka Shosen Kaisha (Osaka Mercantile Steamship Co.) also known as O.S.K. lines, which spun off Matsui Staemsip lies in 1941. Divided back, printed by Seizando, Osaka Japan. Unused, in Very good condition.
