We are pleased to offer these two vintage postcards. The First Postcard - is printed on the front with: 'First National Bank.', 'Villa Grove, Ill.', 'Dec 24/04', 'Yours of the 23 inst., received with stated enclosures', 'We Credit' , 'We enter for Collection' , 'D_____ Deposit', Natl. Bank', 'Chicago Ill.', '$585.21', 'Not responsible for lack of protest at points w t is no bank.', 'All items (except checks on us) are credited subject to payment.', 'Respectfully, W.P. Anderson, Cashier.', and 'Gazette Print, Villa Grove, Ill.' The back is printed with: 'Private Mailing Card', 'Authorized by Act of Congress of May 19.1898', and (handwritten) 'W.H. Williams', 'Fairland, Ill.' This card is postmarked on the back with: 'Villa Grove Ill. Dec 24 1904', and postmarked on the front with, 'Fairland , Ill.', 'Dec. 24, 1904', and (what looks like) '6 AM'. This postcard measures approx. 3 1/2" x 5 3/8". T is some corner wear, and some light soiling. The Second Postcard - is a black and white, real photo postcard, featuring the First National Bank in Palatine, Ill. The photo is sharp and clear. One can clearly read the street sign 'W Slade St', and the shop signs. One sign reads 'Drugs', one 'National Tea Co.', and of course 'First National Bank'. The pharmacist is seen standing outside of his shop. On the face at the top right corner, is a caption that has been exposed on to the photo, which reads: 'First National Bank.', 'Palatine, Ill.' At the bottom left corner, is the photographers mark, in white, 'Brooks Photo 41'. The back is divided, bears a message, and is postmarked 'Palatine', 'Jul 10', '8-AM', '1928'. Printed on the back along the left edge is, 'H.B. Brooks - Photograph Postcards 1111 Newport Ave., Chicago, Ill.' This postcard measures approx 3 7/16" x 5 7/16". T is a bit of corner wear, a 2" crease near the center, slight edge wear, and the back shows some water spots which have smeared the ink slightly in some areas. .
