POSTWAR LIONEL 2046 DIE CAST HUDSON STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & 2046W WHISTLE TENDER WITH ORIGINAL BOXESLOT DESCRIPTION: As the title says this lot consists of a Postwar Lionel 2046, 4-6-4, Die Cast Hudson Steam Locomotive with the correct matching 2046W Tender that was made in the early 1950s. The locomotive has a operating headlight, magna-traction and smoke unit and the tender has the all metal bar end trucks with magnetic coupler and it also has a whistle. Both pieces are all original Post War Lionel. Included is the original box and liner for the loco (both in great shape), the tender box (missing one interior end flap and some tape repairs to the end flaps on one end) and tender box liner (in great shape) and the original instruction sheet in great shapeDESCRIPTION OF CONDITION: The locomotive and tender are both in collector quality condition . The loco casting is perfect, no breaks, cracks or chips. Both classification lights (often broken off) are perfect as are the front cowcatcher steps. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear. The tender too looks fine, no cracks, breaks or chips on the shell, lettering crisp and clear, and coupler is in great shape, both rear steps are there and they are perfect. No real issues here at all. Again, a really great looking set that IMHO I would rate as in C-7, excellent condition to C-8 Like New Condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge.WORKING CONDITION: I have cleaned, serviced and tested the locomotive and it runs and reverses just fine, e-unit cycles perfectly and the smoke unit works and the whistle on the tender also works fine.COMMENTS & QUESTIONS: If there is a problem, regardless of type, e-mail me and I will try and resolve it with you.
