A wonderful quart sized fruit jar that was blown from a deep aqua blue glass. It stands 6 7/8" tall and is 3 5/8" in diameter. The top is a wax- sealer type that is in great shape with none of the usual chips from prying the lid off. The base has a one inch rim around the outside that slants toward the middle. The center is taken up by a large pontil mark with remnants of sharp glass still in evidence. The body has a fantastic barrel shape and is fully embossed. The front reads; POTTER & BODINE'S AIR - TIGHT FRUIT JAR PHILADA in three lines. The back reads; PATENTED APRIL 13 TH 1858 in two lines. The jar would have been perfect but the outer ring of the top has two cracks that join in the neck and one leg extends to the B in Bodine (see last photo). It has been stable for the many years it has been in my collection. Thank you for looking! NOTE: I lost both legs in a work accident and now I can only get packages mailed for me on Fri. and Sat. I will combine shipping for you. Please be kind with your feedback as I am doing the best that I can to get your items shipped.
