Pouyat Limoges Vase Hand Painted Roses, Dragon Handles Description: This auction is for a beautiful Limoges hand painted vase. This stunning vase is entirely decorated with hand painted designs of dark pink roses on one side, and yellow roses on the other side. The handles are figural dragons, painted green with rust accents. The top lip of the vase is gilded. T is beautiful background shading on both sides of the vase. From an estate auction. Manufacturer: This vase is marked on the bottom "JPL France" which is a marked used by Jean Pouyat of Limoges France and dates this vase to the early 1900's. T are also some imprinted marks that look like numerals and appear t be 11 over a 1 or 77 or a 7. Size: The vase is quite large. It is approximately 10 inches tall and about 9 3/8 by 3 5/8 inches. Condition: Condition is very good. T are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no staining. On the side of the vase painted with pink roses, t are a few small areas w it appears the paint was applied thickly and t are small white spots, perhaps w paint has flaked (see photo). The side of the vase with yellow roses is in excellent condition with no paint loss. Gold decoration is in very good condition. Thanks for looking.
