I had the honor of purchasing an estate of 18th. and early 19thc. British lighting from a very high end collector. This pair of early 19thc. wall lights is from that collection. On offer a pair of George III "ovoid form" burnished mercury gilt bronze bald eagle wall lights against mirrored back plates inserted into brass frames. Amazing detail- cut glass bobeshe dropping 12 - 4 part full cut prisms each. The wall lights are single bulb. Bald eagle-[dropping crystal egg from their mouths], blooming leaf form- Neoclassic cartouche terminating in amazing gilt bronze candle cups - leaf tip form. The mirrors have been replaced as one of the originals were cracked, the back hand made brass holders are original.T is minor chipping to the inside glass ring that surrounds the bronze on one bobesche, and very minor flaking on the interior border of the second. No damage otherwise. This is extremely minor and not noticeable when hung but I want to detail all in description. I have had this pair wired by a pro. to code and have them "ready" to hang. This pair is very, very rare and Sotheby's/Christies "high end". We are proud to offer these at a fraction of major auction house prices. For the collector or decorator who truly wants the best. 13 inch by 8 inch, with 9 inch protrusion from wall. If you would like more detailed pics please do not read more
