GORGEOUS PAIR OF AUTHENTIC CHINESE ANCESTOR PORTRAIT PAINTINGS

for your consideration is a pair of vividly colored ancestor paintings or portraits. These two have been previously framed in a black frame with a natural grasscloth matting. I have not removed them from their frames, but I think this is possible with care. I do note one small vertical tear on the woman's portrait, but it is off to the side and not involving her at all. The colors and depth of these paintings is astounding! Such great detail is given to each. As an artist and designer, I cannot imagine the time that went into these. The colors used are rich and deep in navy, sky blue, white, green, black, gray, pink, maroon, orange and peach. You can even see the rank badges on the robes! The woman's robe has lots of the distinguished color red and dragons! She has the ever envied tiny feet and a very elaborate beaded headress.

I love these portraits. If you follow design as I do, you'll see these hanging in the very upscale houses in Architectual Digest and the like. These are very collectable and sought after, so don't miss your chance. I, personally, would probably remove them from their present frames and put them in a substantial gold bamboo Regency frame with possible a large neutral mat. At any rate, these are simply gorgeous and are true works of art. Great gift for the collector of Eastern antiquites, an artist, or anyone with impecable taste! Sold as is so bid and ask questions accordingly.
