This auction is one bid and NO RESERVE for a pair of antique French lithographs of the Port of Calais by Isadore Deroy (b.1797 d.1886). Superbly framed in old gilt-tooled burgundy leather mats and gilt wood frames, as shown. Old estate pieces from a very good Dallas picker resource and unconditionally guaranteed authentic and old and check out the pics; you won't be disappointed. CONDITION: Lithographs in excellent condition with no tears, stains, discolorations, fading, etc. Gilding on the wood frames is ***worn down to the wood** in several places as shown in the pics. Minor repaired chipping to one of the leather mats, one small chip near the top right coner and several small chips along its bottom as shown in the pics (mat chips are a very minor issue, but noted for completeness). Otherwise, nothing to complain about on careful and honest inspection. Excellent structural condition, retaining their glass and ready to hang on your wall and you won't be disappointed. Overall, the pics are very honest and show the condition well and the only thing to think about with these is the worn spots in the gilding on the frames. AGE: Partial date on a sticker on the back of one of the frames dates these lithographs to the 1850s. Mats and frames are probably slightly later, ca. 1880 - 1920. SIZE: Lithographs themselves are about 5" x 7. read more
