Up for bids is a great pair of Eames era electric wall sconces. They are very much in the style of some of the great Italian maker's such as Stilnovo, Arteluce, Artemide and Fontana Arte. I believe these are from the 1970's or 1980's. T are, however, no marks that I can find, so I am not completely sure. They also call to mind some of the designs of Paul McCobb. These would be really wonderful in many different design schemes from art deco to Eames to Hollywood Regency and high-tech. They would be the perfect size in a very chic powder room flanking a mirror, or in any symmetrical placement of your choosing. The quality on this is extremely high. They are constructed of a one piece brass backing with arms that come out of the top and bottom that hold the piece of white opaline glass in place. At the top of each, t are ingenius tiny hidden inset screws that hold the glass in place. The pair of screws are missing on one, but should be no problem to replace. Mirroring the curved glass front panel is a curved white perforated metal behind to filter the light. This is all held together by a rectangular shaped shallow box that attaches to the wall. The brass construction is all cast on these, and the craftmanship is quite high. I cannot figure out what kind of lightbulbs these take, but hopefully someone can figure out from the picture I have shown. T are a couple of decals on the back of each from Underwriters Labs. The dimension are: 13" H x 6" W x 4" Deep. Condition is excellent. The glass shows no damage whatsoever. The brass is great, with some minor signs of oxidation. I have no idea whether they are working, but would assume they probably are. As with all vintage lighting, they should be checked out by a pro. before installation.
