Caucasian Genje with Kazak medallion Just reduced by $1000 For a long time I considered this rug to be a Fakhraly Kazak, principally because a very learned Azeri prounounced upon it for me. But, he was wrong, and probably drawn by the T-Meander and stripe to think that way. Some further reading and a nudge from Barry O'Connell has pointed me in the right direction. This is a Genje/Ganga/Gyanja rug with some leaning towards Kazak. I am still no expert on Caucasian rugs, but I am learning fast. In retrospect there are many pointers towards this being a Genje rug not the least of which is the a-typical Lale Abbasi guard border, exactly as it should be. This is a beautiful rug, with only some absolutely minor peccadilloes, absolutely stunning on the floor. The pictures speak for themselves. This rug's pile is like paper the construction is so fine, just magnificent, the prospective owner will have a museum quality treasure, in excellent condition. The 3-cord selvage, which alternates in color and short tasseling at each end of the rug are in excellent condition also. Exact dimensions are: 4' 3" x 8' 4" (130 x 254 cms) If you have any questions about this rug you can email me directly at or call during office hours + Please note that I offer a full 100% refund including (S& H and Ins) if you are not completely satisfied.
