Nice old bowie knife from around 1840s-60s period, made in Sheffield by Philip & Speyer and marked accordingly on the ricasso of a 5 1/2" spear-point blade, showing evidence of extensive usage throughout the years, part of the blade with heavy patina and fine pitting. Very nice heavy handle with horn grips and silver mounts, elaborately chased with florals on both sides of the pommel, all parts are solid and intact although showing great aging. Overall measures 9 5/8" and is in solid condition, good addition to any Civil War period bowies Collection.
